Stakes Bingo, Pull Tabs, and Computer
Bingo. Fortune Bay introduced the first
touch screen Bingo to the public. |

National Indian Gaming Regulatory Act
(NIGRA) was passed by the Federal Government
giving Indian Tribes authorization for
Indian gaming. The purpose of the act
is to provide a statutory foundation
to promote economic development, self-reliance,
and strong Tribal Government. |

Fortune Bay underwent an extensive expansion
in preparation of new electronic poker,
keno, and slot machines. |

1995
Construction started on a destination
Northern Minnesota Resort on the shores
of Lake Vermilion as an addition to
the existing Casino. |

1996
Fortune Bay completed construction
of their new resort, featuring 118
rooms, a 5000 sq.ft. Conference Center
plus a 225 seat restaurant, and several
smaller meeting rooms. Other features
included a pool, fitness room, sauna,
and several walking trails. Compacts
were signed with the State of Minnesota
and the Bois Forte Band opened Fortune
Bay Resort Casino.

The golf course was completed and opened

Bois Forte Tribal Government Approves
Fortune Bay Expansion Plan to begin
in May 2006 and completed in May 2007.
Top-level Fortune Bay Resort Casino
officials completed a 10 year 3-phase
master plan for future development at
the destination resort. The first phase
of the plan calls for the addition of
up to 60 hotel rooms, remodeling of
the Resort Front Desk area, increased
parking, an administrative office addition,
and other amenities. |
