Minot Air Force Base Awards Major Contract

Minot Air Force Base Awards Major Contract To Powerain Car Wash Systems In Tower

Unique Project Will Combine Car, Truck Wash In One System

TOWER, Minn. - Powerain Car Wash Systems - owned and operated by the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa - will build a $300,000 combined car and large vehicle wash (LVW) system for Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, a company spokesperson announced today.

"This project is the first, very important step in establishing Powerain in the government market," said Kevin Leecy, Bois Forte Tribal Chair. "More importantly, it shows that we are developing the entrepreneurial expertise necessary to provide new opportunities for the Band and the surrounding communities of northeastern Minnesota."

Powerain will refurbish an existing facility to handle a wide range of vehicle types and sizes, from cars to vans and trucks to buses. "This is a unique product," said Powerain's Tom Anderson, Manager of Government Sales. "It requires an advanced engineering skill to build a high volume car and truck wash in one system. I believe our experience and confidence in doing this project helped us win the contract."

The company will begin work on the project immediately with delivery due in 90 days, according to Anderson, who is also a member of the Bois Forte Band. Minot Air Force Base, located 13 miles north of Minot, N.D., is home to two major Air Force units: the 5th Bomb Wing and the 91st Space Wing.

"Our goal is to eventually position Powerain as a primary provider of that kind of equipment to the U.S. government and all its branches," said Jack DeMarre, Powerain's Director of Sales & Marketing. "I really believe we can achieve that."
